Ms. Rūta Vainienė, F. M. Sands Fellow in Political Economy
The Center for Global Economic Growth of FreedomWorks Foundation is pleased to announce that Ms. Rūta Vainienė of Lithuania has been appointed the first F. M. Sands Fellow in Political Economy. As the originator and the author of the Economics Dictionary (in Lithuanian), she will be managing a project to provide the most of up to date dictionary of economics and financial terms for translation into many languages by public policy organizations across the globe.
Ms. Vainienė is an economist, university lecturer, and adviser to the Mayor of Vilnius on economic issues. Her past experience includes positions of Vice President of the Lithuanian Free Market Institute, a leading European think tank, and of a member of the Board of the Bank of Lithuania.
As an accomplished speaker, Ms. Vainienė has made numerous presentations in conferences and seminars throughout Europe and is often interviewed by media. In addition to the best-selling Dictionary, which was highly praise in the Wall Street Journal review, she has published more than two hundred articles and papers
