PROJECT ON INTERNATIONAL INSTITUTIONS

In recent years, a number of international institutions-- such as the UN, OECD, IMF, FATF, etc. -- have engaged in mission creep, and some of these new activities are impeding global economic growth.

For instance, the OECD was set up to foster policies that promote economic growth, such as free trade, and to collect and disseminate useful economic statistics. However, in recent years the OECD has started a campaign against “harmful tax competition,” which, in fact, is anti-economic growth.

The UN has advocated a series of taxes, (e.g., on international airfares, capital movements, etc.) that would bypass nation states and undermine global economic growth.

CGEG is working with other public policy organizations, such as the Center for Freedom and Prosperity, to inform the global public about the damages of such mission creep and the destructive policies that are being advocated.
